Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner Vs Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner: What's the Difference?

Finding a toner that’s compatible to your needs is a tedious process. It involves a lot of trial and error -- and with a wide variety of toners available in the market, you are definitely going to consume a lot of time and money as well just to find the right one for you.

Fortunately, here at Go Bloom and Glow, we've already sorted out a list of toners based on things you have to consider when choosing a toner such as brand, skin concern, and skin type. These categories are some of the most important factors you have to be concerned about when you search for the best toner suitable for you.

There are a lot of well-known brands that offer toners for different skin types or issues, however, if you’re looking to explore a relatively new brand that won’t disappoint -- we present to you one brand that’s worth mentioning. Pyunkang Yul is a brand launched by Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic, a renowned institution known for treating atopic skin disorders, offering skincare products devoid of unnecessary chemical substances. Such products are solely designed to protect and provide a breather to your skin.

In line with this, we are proud to say that Pyunkang Yul is now officially distributed by our company, Go Bloom and Glow, here in the Philippines. Thus, making your search for your next perfect toner much accessible and easier.

Pyunkang Yul offers two kinds of toner from their skincare line: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner. With both products coming from the same brand, you might ask what their difference is from each other. But before we move on to the comparison of these two products, here are some reviews for each toner from our verified buyers:

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner

What a product!
I've always had an issue with time doing the 10-step regimen in the morning. Been trying to see where I can cut on the steps yet still achieve a moisturized face for the day - THIS was the answer to may prayers! The PKY Essence Toner saves me time - all I do now is cleanse, layer on the essence toner about 5x (with only 30secs of "drying" time in between), sunscreen then I'm out the door. My skin remains moisturized and it doesn't look like I've omitted steps at all. I will definitely re-purchase! - Coi

HG toner
This is one product I will purchase for the rest of my life! This is Holy Grail status in my book. My oily, acne prone skin have really benefited from the gentleness and effectiveness of this product. This is hydrating and soothing without the sticky factor. Although I'm prone to acne, I've learned recently that treating my skin gently and not overloading it with product is the way to go. I know the 10 step method is crazy popular and I did jump in that bandwagon but it was not for me, especially the inclusion of acids in daily products. This toner helped me create a simple, very doable, highly effective, and yes, more budget friendly routine. Now, after cleansing, I use about 2-3 layers of this toner, serum (TO Niacinamide), light gel moisturizer to seal everything in, and Biore sunblock. Same routine in the evening sans the sunblock and with a heavier moisturizer or sleeping pack. This toner is no-frills and EXTREMELY KIND to skin. If you are looking for something effective, straightforward (no over the moon promises) and something you will not be afraid to use daily, get this essence toner hybrid from Pyunkang Yul. - Jennifer

Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner

Can't go anywhere without this!
This is a toner/mist that's always in my bag. Whenever I feel I need to freshen up, I grab this and spritz it on my face. I love how it really gives me that "fresh" look! Some reviews I've read says that it is not hydrating for them, but it's hydrating enough for me even though I have dry skin. I mix a few drops of Pyunkang Yul Oil with it though, since I've seen somewhere that the Oil gives the mist a boost - and maybe that's the reason why it's working really well for me even if I have dry skin! ;) Can't go anywhere without this now, it's a must-have! - Anonymous

Refreshing
I am a big fan of mist toner and ive tried quite a few. So far, I really like Pyunkang Yul mist toner because 1. it doesn't have an overwhelming smell, in fact I think its odorless 2. its doesn't sting or that kind of feeling when you know there's alcohol in the product 3. its very handy and convenient to use. Its in my travel kit and everyday kit all the time. - Ced

Now onto an in-depth comparison between these two star toners from Pyunkang Yul:

Skin Type

To start off, Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner and Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner are both suitable for all skin types. Notably, Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner is best on dry skin types and can be used on even the most sensitive skin, while Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner can be used on sensitive, oily and combination skin types.

Star Ingredients

Secondly, both are designed to provide hydration when you look at their key ingredients. However, they differ in the sense that Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner is made up of 91.3% Milk Vetch Extract which is known to combat stress conditions in your body while boosting your immune system and Pyunkang Yul Mist is crafted with 91.9% Coptis Japonica root extract which is known to soothe redness and irritation on the skin.

Texture

Thirdly, when it comes to texture; the Essence Toner has a thicker and more viscous consistency that resembles an essence or a serum (hence the name) compared to the Mist Toner that has a water-like consistency.

Packaging

Fourthly, packaging or container-wise; both are available in 100 or 200 ml bottles though they do not come in an outer box for 100 ml products. Both are packaged in a minimalist, royal blue bottle.

Application Method

For application method; the Essence Toner can be soaked on a cotton pad (we recommend the Pyunkang Yul 1/3 Cotton Pads for this) or be applied by hand to spread all over your face until it gets absorbed while the Mist Toner is sprayed on your face and neck and is patted after to get absorbed.

As stated before, these Pyunkang Yul Toners claim to provide intense hydration. Although Pyunkang Yul Essence leans on combating the signs of overstressed and tiredness on your skin, Pyunkang Yul Mist offers instantly refreshing and soothing your skin anytime and anywhere.

Conclusion

With such great benefits found on both toners, which one would you choose? If you are still undecided after the comparison made, why not choose both? Use Mist Toner in the morning or while you are on-the-go then use Essence Toner in the evening before you sleep - it's great for the 7 skin method, too! This way, you will definitely have the best of both toners without pining for the one you did not choose.
